According to the problem analysis result done by TSA, you can directly begin the subsequent troubleshooting process from the corresponding potential root cause.
1. Pump
2-1-1-1 - Start pumping the malfunctioning pump, and measure the voltage at the motor board connector for the corresponding pump. The expected reading should be 24V
- Result 1 - The reading is 24V.
Start 2-1-1-3. - Result 2 - The reading is not 24V.
Start 2-1-1-2.
2-1-1-2 - Replace the motor board (see SOP here) and verify pump functionality.
- Result 1 - The pump works fine.
Start 2-1-1-5.
Root cause: The motor board fails. - Result 2 - The pump is still not working.
Escalate to manager (machine swap).
2-1-1-3 - Inspect the pipeline for leaks that may reduce pump extraction efficiency.
- Result 1 - There are leaks.
Start 2-1-1-4. - Result 2 - There are no leaks.
Start 2-1-2-1.
2-1-1-4 - Seal the leaks as follows, make sure no leaks, and start 2-1-1-5.
Pipeline rupture: Replace the damaged section of the pipeline.
Incomplete connection sealing: Properly install the pipeline and clamps to their designated positions (following the Standard Operating Procedure - SOP).
2-1-1-5 - Make a drink to verify the resolution of the dispensing warning issue.
- Result 1 - No dispense warning pops up.
Issue close. (If the issue is closed after completing 2-1-1-4, the root cause for your case is tubing leaks) - Result 2 - Dispensing warning still happens.
Start checking 2-1-2-1.
2. Flowmeter
2-1-2-1 - Swap the problematic flowmeter plug with a functional one on the flowmeter board. Simultaneously dispense from both tubes and verify if readings are shown on the touchscreen.
- Result 1 - The problematic flowmeter is still unreadable.
Start 2-1-2-3.
Root cause: the flowmeter fails - Result 2 - Problematic flowmeter becomes readable.
Start 2-1-2-2.
2-1-2-2 - Replace the flowmeter board (see SOP here), and verify flowmeter functionality.
- Result 1 - The flowmeter is readable now.
Start 2-1-2-4.
Root cause: the flowmeter board fails - Result 2 - The flowmeter is still unreadable.
Start 2-1-2-3.
2-1-2-3 - Replace the flowmeter (see SOP here), and verify flowmeter functionality.
- Result 1 - The flowmeter is readable now.
Start 2-1-2-4.
Root cause: the flowmeter board & flowmeter fail. - Result 2 - The flowmeter is still unreadable.
Escalate to FAE.
- Result 3 - The flowmeter is not replaceable due to harsh/tiny work space.
Escalate to manager (machine swap).
2-1-2-4 - Fill tube, and make a drink to verify the resolution of the dispensing warning issue.
- Result 1 - No dispense warning pops up.
Issue close.
- Result 2 - Dispensing warning still happens.
Escalate to FAE.
