According to the problem analysis result done by TSA, you can directly begin the subsequent troubleshooting process from the corresponding potential root cause.

 1. Customer's Outlet

3-2-1-1 - Turn off the machine, and verify the type of outlet provided to DrinkBot Mini by the customer.

  • Result 1 - GFCI outlet or surge-protected outlet.
    Start 3-2-1-2
    .
  • Result 2 - Regular outlet.
    Start 3-2-1-4.

3-2-1-2 - Verify if the customer's GFCI outlet (or surge-protected outlet) has tripped.

  • Result 1 - Tripped.
    Start 3-2-1-3
    .
  • Result 2 - Not tripped.
    Start 3-2-1-4.

3-2-1-3 - Reset the outlet, then turn on DrinkBot Mini and verify if the machine can start up and load the Botrista homepage without issue.

  • Result 1 - Machine startup without issue.
Issue close. (Root cause: GFCI outlet / surge-protected outlet has tripped)
  • Result 2 - Still power off.
    Start 3-2-2-1.

3-2-1-4 - Turn on DrinkBot Mini and verify the machine startup status.

  • Result 1 - Still power off.
    Start 3-2-2-1.

 2. Power Switch

3-2-2-1 - Measure the voltage at the customer’s output. The expected reading should be as follow:

Live and neutral: 120V (Abnormal if the reading exceeds ±10%)

Live and ground: 120V (Abnormal if the reading exceeds ±10%)
Neutral and ground: Around 0.6~0.7V (Abnormal if the reading exceeds 1V)

  • Result 1 - All the readings fit the above value.
    Start 3-2-2-2.
  • Result 2 - Any of the readings is abnormal.
Escalate to TSA to further discuss with the customer for power output repair.

(Root cause: Customer power output abnormal)

3-2-2-2 - Open the power switch access panel, and verify that the fuse and switch (Live and neutral, at "ON" position) are closed circuits. (see the picture below)

  • Result 1 - The fuse is the open circuit.
    Start 3-2-2-3.
  • Result 2 - The switch is the open circuit.
    Start 3-2-2-4.

3-2-2-3 - Replace the fuse (see SOP here), and verify if the machine can start up and load the Botrista homepage without issue.

  • Result 1 - Machine startup without issue.
Issue close. (Root cause: fuse failure)
  • Result 2 - Still power off.
    Start 3-2-2-4.

3-2-2-4 - Replace the power switch (see SOP here), and verify if the machine can start up and load the Botrista homepage without issue.

  • Result 1 - Machine startup without issue.
Issue close. (Root cause: Power switch failure)

3. Power Supply

3-2-3-1 - Measure the voltage at the power supply output, the expected reading should be 24V DC.

  • Result 1 - The reading is 24V DC.
    Start 3-2-4-1.
  • Result 2 - The reading is not 24V DC.
    Start 3-2-3-2.

3-2-3-2 - Verify if the system immediately shuts down after starting up.

  • Result 1 - The system shuts down immediately.
    Start 3-2-3-3.

3-2-3-3 - Execute the power supply short circuit prevention (see "Key Point" in this SOP), then turn on the machine to verify if the machine can start up and load the Botrista homepage without issue.

  • Result 1 - Machine startup without issue.
Issue close. (Root cause: Power supply short circuit)

4. Control Board & Mini PC

3-2-4-1 - Verify the LED lights are lit on the control board.

  • Result 1 - The LED lights are lit.
    Start 3-2-4-4.
  • Result 2 - The LED light are not lit.
    Start 3-2-4-2.

3-2-4-2 - Measure the voltage on the “J24V1 in” connector on the control board. The expected reading should be 24V DC.

  • Result 1 - The reading is 24V DC.
    Start 3-2-4-4.
  • Result 2 - The reading is not 24V DC.
    Start 3-2-4-3.

3-2-4-3 - Reconnect the power wires connecting with the “J24V1 in” connector on the control board and the power supply 24V DC output. Then turn on the machine to verify if the machine can start up and load the Botrista homepage without issue.

  • Result 1 - Machine startup without issue.
Issue close. (Root cause: Disconnection of 24V DC inlet on the control board)
  • Result 2 - Still not able to turn on the machine.
    Restart 3-2-4-1.

3-2-4-4 - Verify if the Mini PC power light is lit.

  • Result 1 - The power light is lit.
    Escalate to FAE.
  • Result 2 - The power light is not lit.
    Start 3-2-4-5.

3-2-4-5 - Measure the voltage on the “J.PWR.PC (Power)” connector on the control board. The expected reading should be 12V DC.

  • Result 1 - The reading is 12V DC.
    Start 3-2-4-6.
  • Result 2 - The reading is not 12V DC.
    Start 3-2-4-7.

3-2-4-6 - Reconnect the USB cable connecting the control board and the Mini PC. Then turn on the machine to verify if the machine can start up and load the Botrista homepage without issue.

  • Result 1 - Machine startup without issue.
Issue close. (Root cause: Disconnection of 24V DC inlet on the Mini PC)
  • Result 2 - Still not able to turn on the machine.
    Start 3-2-4-8.

3-2-4-7 - Replace the control board (see SOP here), then turn on the machine to verify successful machine startup.

  • Result 1 - Machine startup without issue.
Issue close. (Root cause: Control board failure)
  • Result 2 - Still not able to turn on the machine.
    Restart 3-2-4-1.

3-2-4-8 - Replace the Mini PC (see SOP here), then turn on the machine to verify if the machine can start up and load the Botrista homepage without issue.

  • Result 1 - Machine startup without issue.
Issue close. (Root cause: Mini PC failure)
  • Result 2 - Still not able to turn on the machine.
    Escalate to FAE.
