2-1 - R4.5 Dispense Warning

Modified on Tue, 3 Jun at 11:35 PM

According to the problem analysis result done by TSA, you can directly begin the subsequent troubleshooting process from the corresponding potential root cause.

1. BiB

2-1-1-1 - Verify if the BiB is not empty or folded.

  • Result 1 - The BiB is not empty or folded.
    Start 2-1-2-1.

  • Result 2 - The BiB is empty or folded
    Start 2-1-1-2.

2-1-1-2 - Change BiB / Push the remaining ingredients in the BiB towards to the spout, and fill tube to see if the ingredients can be dispensed smoothly.

  • Result 1 - The ingredients can be dispensed smoothly.
    Start 2-1-3-4.
Root cause: Empty BiB / Folded BiB.

  • Result 2 - Still dispense warning
    Start 2-1-2-1.

2. Pump

2-1-2-1 - Start pumping the malfunctioning pump, and measure the voltage at the motor board connector for the corresponding pump. The expected reading should be 24V

  • Result 1 - The reading is 24V.
    Start 2-1-2-3.

  • Result 2 - The reading is not 24V
    Start 2-1-2-2.

2-1-2-2 Replace the motor board (see SOP here) and verify pump functionality.

  • Result 1 - The pump works fine.
    Start 2-1-2-6.

Root cause: The motor board fails.

  • Result 2 - The pump is still not working.
    Start 2-1-2-3.

2-1-2-3 Replace the pump (see fridge pump SOP / ambient pump SOP here) and verify pump functionality.

  • Result 1 - The pump works fine.
    Start 2-1-2-6.

    Root cause: The pump fails.

  • Result 2 - The pump is still not working
    Start 2-1-2-4.

2-1-2-4 - Inspect the pipeline for leaks that may reduce pump extraction efficiency.

  • Result 1 - There are leaks.
    Start 2-1-2-5.

  • Result 2 - There are no leaks
    Start 2-1-3-1.

2-1-2-5 Seal the leaks as follows, make sure no leaks, and start 2-1-2-6.

Pipeline rupture: Replace the damaged section of the pipeline.

Incomplete connection sealing: Properly install the pipeline and clamps to their designated positions (following the Standard Operating Procedure - SOP).

2-1-2-6 - Make a drink to verify the resolution of the dispensing warning issue.

  • Result 1 - No dispense warning pops up.
Issue close. (If the issue is closed after completing 2-1-2-5, the root cause for your case is tubing leaks)

  • Result 2 - Dispensing warning still happens.
    Start checking 2-1-3-1.

 3. Flowmeter

2-1-3-1 - Swap the problematic flowmeter plug with a functional one on the flowmeter board. Simultaneously dispense from both tubes and verify if readings are shown on the touchscreen.

*In some cases, as shown in the image, the flowmeter board is positioned very close to or even in contact with the upper fridge door. This may cause abnormal flow meter readings. If this occurs, please elevate the flowmeter board before securing it back in place, and then verify that the flow rate during the dispense test has stabilized.

  • Result 1 - The problematic flowmeter is still unreadable.
    Start 2-1-3-3.

    Root cause: the flowmeter fails

  • Result 2 - Problematic flowmeter becomes readable
    Start 2-1-3-2.

2-1-3-2 Replace the flowmeter board (see SOP here), and verify flowmeter functionality.

  • Result 1 - The flowmeter is readable now.
    Start 2-1-3-4.

Root cause: the flowmeter board fails

  • Result 2 - The flowmeter is still unreadable.
    Start 2-1-3-3.

2-1-3-3 Replace the flowmeter (see fridge flowmeter SOP / ambient flowmeter SOP here), and verify flowmeter functionality.

  • Result 1 - The flowmeter is readable now.
    Start 2-1-3-4.

Root cause: the flowmeter board & flowmeter fail.

  • Result 2 - The flowmeter is still unreadable.
    Escalate to FAE.

2-1-3-4 - Fill tube, and make a drink to verify the resolution of the dispensing warning issue.

  • Result 1 - No dispense warning pops up.
    Issue close.
  • Result 2 - Dispensing warning still happens.
    Escalate to FAE.
